Who We Are, and how We Do It.

At Four Square Stables, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality livestock to our customers. Our mission is to support local farms and promote sustainable farming practices in the community.

   Yes... to all of the above. Sounds great, right? So here's the skinny: The adventure started about 8 years ago. While putting my wife through her doctorate, the Covid thing happened and some other traumatic stuff. We came to the winter of 2024.  Hurricane Helene, and we got our dream property... yayyyyyy! Woot! woot! ...25.5 acres with plenty of pasture and even a scary forest or two, all in the middle of nowhere. It was perfect and couldn't have come at a more perfect point in our lives. She thought my tractor was sexy... Till it didn't work. Lol! We bought cheap, but fixing things is my thing, so... the blue heelers were a happy addition to our already 5 dogs. Plus they're great guardian livestock dogs. The goats, well let me tell ya about them....

We're not breeders, at least that's what we think or strive for. We don't actively take away or put together these animals in any probably traditional way like typical farmers. We've only actively intended to breed the Boer goats. but that's been a challenge all on its own. They say with goats, "it's called line-breeding until the buck gets out. Then it becomes in-breeding," and once you've lived it, you'll understand. The beauty of goats? They are both naturally and genetically amazing and resilient, even when accidents happen. So with all that said (too many adventures in just 12 months that there isn't room for here) we just let animals do what animals do, to some degree, and now we have babies. We don't want all the babies. That'd be a whole lot of mouths to feed and attention to give, so we sell them to loving homes. This is a farm, and it supplements income, cost of feed, and facilitates our ability to enjoy all the lives we've been entrusted to care for.

   To sum this up we are people of integrity what we say is what we mean. We stand by our word. if you see somthing we could be doing better let us know. We will listen, we take the gold and leave the shit. So please join us in continuing our adventure and shairing our dreams.
